The story
Why Lumen Pay exists
Lumen Pay started at a 12-person design agency in Toronto that paid contractors in nine countries and lost two days a month to wire transfers and tax forms. Its operations lead wrote a script that paid everyone in stablecoins on Oriel at once, then another that wrote the tax reports.
In 2025 the ecosystem fund matched a $500,000 investment with $500,000 of its own, paid against three milestones. Today 620 companies run payroll through Lumen Pay, and the next milestone adds tax reports for 20 more countries.
